  It's never been safe to masturbate during pregnancy , because of two reasons. 1) Infections :  with whatever you masturbate, either your fingers or any object, there is increased risk of developing infections to vagina. Chances of getting infections are increased during pregnancy as compared to normal woman. This vaginal infections can reach to uterus and then baby which may be life threatening to baby. 2)Trauma  : masturbations with sharp objects can cause trauma to vagina leading to infections. Further trauma to upper level or deep inside can cause rupture of membranes leading to loss or leak of amniotic fluid which is directly lethal for baby. Thus masturbation is largely harmful for baby so it must be avoided during pregnancy.
